Joke: A Sunday school teacher asked the children just before she dismissed them to go to church, “And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?” Annie replied, “Because people are sleeping.”

Prop: A Sunday School lesson booklet or poster of a church
Summary: It is important to attend church regularly and study the Bible.
Today is the start of another church school year. That means we may have new teachers and classrooms. And that means you are growing up. As you grow in age, God wants you to grow in your knowledge of Him.
Did you know God wants you to attend church regularly and learn more about Him in the Bible? He does. Let me share two Scriptures with you.
(Read Hebrews 10:23-25) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
This passage tells us we should always be willing to tell others about Jesus. It says we should love one another and help each other to do good things. One of the ways we do this is to meet regularly for church and Bible study. If we don’t come to church, we lose the chance to help each other be better persons and better Christians. If we don’t come to Sunday School, we don’t learn as much as we could about God.
Here’s another Scripture: (Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
The Bible tells us that God’s Word is true from beginning to end. It also says that if we study the Bible, we will learn how to live the way God wants us to live. It gives us what we need to be all we can be for God.
So let’s start off this church year right. Let’s plan to attend church and Sunday School regularly and be a part of God’s family.
