Resumo: A história de Jesus acalmando a tempestade.

Vejam o que eu trouxe hoje. Estão vendo esta imagem? O que é isso? (uma tempestade) Eu quero contar uma história sobre quando Jesus ficou preso em uma tempestade. Jesus havia passado o dia todo pregando seus ensinamentos e ele estava cansado. Ele disse para os discípulos entrarem em um barco e cruzarem o Lago de Genesaré, ou como ele era chamado normalmente, o Mar da Galileia. Jesus estava cansado e sabia que levaria aproximadamente uma hora para atravessar o lago, então ele pegou um travesseiro e se deitou para tirar um cochilo. Vocês tiram um cochilo de tarde quando estão cansados? Jesus tinha trabalhado muito naquele dia e acabou adormecendo.

Então começou a ventar muito forte. As ondas ficavam batendo na lateral do barco e ele começou a se encher de água. Os discípulos sabiam que se não fizessem alguma coisa rapidamente o barco afundaria. Eles estavam com medo por causa da tempestade. Durante a vida, algumas vezes acontecem coisas ruins conosco e não sabemos a quem recorrer. Os discípulos sabiam que poderiam contar com Jesus, então eles foram pedir a ajuda dele. Vocês ficam com medo quando caem raios e trovões em noites de chuva? (sim) Os discípulos sacudiram Jesus para acordá-lo e disseram: “Mestre, Mestre, vamos morrer!” (Lucas 8:24) Então o que Jesus fez? Será que ele esfregou os olhos e disse: “me deixem em paz, não podem ver que estou dormindo”? Não, claro que não. Jesus sempre se preocupa quando estamos com problemas ou em perigo. Ele nos ama e quer cuidar de nós.

Jesus se levantou e disse para o vento parar e para as ondas se acalmarem. Foi como se ele dissesse ao céu “Shh, fique quieto!” e às ondas “Deitem e se acalmem”. Vocês já tiveram um cachorro de estimação que não parava de latir à noite? Se tiveram, devem saber o que é uma focinheira. A focinheira é uma mordaça para cachorros. É um acessório que você coloca no focinho do cachorro para impedir que ele abra a boca para latir. Foi isso o que Jesus disse para aquelas ondas.* O vento se aquietou, e fez-se completa bonança. Ao mesmo tempo, o vento parou e as ondas se acalmaram até que a superfície do lago ficasse tão lisa quanto vidro. Em seguida, Jesus se voltou para os discípulos e os surpreendeu. Ele perguntou por que eles estavam com medo.

Então ele perguntou aos seus discípulos, Por que vocês estão com tanto medo? Ainda não têm fé? Isso só fez com que eles ficassem mais assustados. Eles nunca tinham visto ninguém comandar o vento e o mar daquela forma, fazendo os dois obedecerem imediatamente. Jesus é o Filho de Deus, que tudo criou. Ele tem o poder para controlar tudo o que fez. Em Salmos 89:9 está escrito: Tu dominas o revolto mar; quando se agigantam as suas ondas, tu as acalmas. Sempre que as tempestades da vida ameaçarem nos derrubar, Jesus vem nos defender e as tira do caminho. Nós só precisamos ter fé e acreditar em Jesus. Ele que tudo controla nos protegerá.
