Resumen: María es un rol modelo para madres quiénes son mujeres de Dios.

Mira lo que traje conmigo. Esta es una pintura de la Virgen María visitada por el Ángel Gabriel. Esto es cuando María se enteró que iba a ser madre. Ser madre es algo muy especial. Es una responsabilidad impresionante. Cualquier niño es un regalo de Dios y la crianza de niños es una de las cosas más importantes que un padre tiene que hacer. Hoy es un día en el que le damos gracias a Dios por lo que nuestras madres hacen y han hecho para criarnos de una forma que honra a Dios.

El amor y cuidado de una madre comienza incluso antes de nacer. Con María comienza con una humilde obediencia a la voluntad de Dios. Cuando ella aprendió su papel de traer a Jesús al mundo, ella le contestó al ángel: He aquí la sierva del Señor; hágase conmigo conforme a tu palabra. (Lucas 1:38).

Tan asustada como ella debería haber estado por ver un ángel, ella respondió el llamado de Dios al deber. Ella cuidó de su hijo todavía no nacido cuando ella visitó a su prima Elizabeth. Las madres naturalmente estarán atentas para nuestra seguridad.

María siguió a Jesús a la cruz y observó horrorizada como ellos crucificaban al Señor de la Vida. Ella amó a su hijo y debe haber llorado mientras que él confió su cuidado a Juan de la Cruz (Juan 19:25-27). Ella visitó el sepulcro en la mañana de Pascuas y su pena se tornó a alegría cuando vio el sepulcro vacío. Una madre es devota y sigue a sus hijos tanto en las buenas como en las malas. Que ejemplo maravilloso de maternidad tenemos cuando consideramos la vida de María, la madre de Jesús. Estén seguros de agradecer a Dios por su madre y de decirle cuanto la quieren.
