Material: Um saco de doces.

Resumo: A parábola dos trabalhadores ilustra como a salvação está aberta a todos. Deveríamos responder à graça de Deus com humildade, não com ressentimento.

(Leia em voz alta Mateus 20:16) Assim, os últimos serão primeiros, e os primeiros serão últimos. Porque muitos são chamados, mas poucos escolhidos. Existe uma história sobre um pai que deixou o filho na Escola Dominical. Ele não ia à igreja, mas queria que seu filho fosse. A falta de preocupação do pai passou para o filho. Depois da missa ele foi buscar o filho e perguntou o que o padre havia falado. O menino respondeu: “Não tenho certeza. Uma parábola sobre pessoas frias ou algo do tipo”. “O quê?”, perguntou o pai sem entender. O menino explicou, “Bem, o padre ficava repetindo que muitas pessoas são frias, e que algumas são como pedras de gelo”. (risos)

Acho que de alguma forma o garoto não entendeu direito a parábola dos trabalhadores. Vamos falar sobre essa parábola hoje. Jesus contou muitas histórias que ajudavam a explicar como era o Reino dos Céus. Nesta, ele diz que havia um homem que precisava de trabalhadores para cuidarem da vinha dele, onde crescem as uvas. Ele saiu de manhã bem cedo e contratou alguns homens para trabalharem por uma moeda de prata (denário) por dia, e eles aceitaram. Algumas horas depois, ele viu alguns homens no mercado que não tinham trabalho, então ele sugeriu que eles fossem trabalhar na vinha, dizendo que receberiam o que era justo. Ele fez a mesma coisa ao meio dia e às 3 da tarde. Contratou também alguns homens no fim da tarde, por volta das 5 horas. Quando o sol se pôs, ele chamou os trabalhadores da vinha e disse para o supervisor: Pague-lhes o salário, começando com os últimos contratados e terminando nos primeiros.

Quando vieram aqueles que haviam trabalhado apenas uma hora, ele lhes deu um denário. E quando vieram aqueles que haviam trabalhado o dia todo, eles acharam que receberiam mais, mas ele também deu a eles um denário. Quando receberam o salário, eles começaram a reclamar do proprietário. Eles acharam ruim que o homem houvesse pagado àqueles que trabalharam uma hora a mesma quantia que havia sido paga aos que trabalharam o dia todo no calor. Mas ele respondeu dizendo que eram seus amigos, que eles haviam concordado em trabalhar por um denário e era isso que tinham recebido. Ele tinha direito de fazer o que desejasse com o que oferecia aos outros, e eles não deviam se ressentir por isso.

Jesus estava dizendo àqueles que o rodeavam que a salvação estava aberta para todos, mas que apenas alguns aceitariam sua oferta. Quando Jesus morreu na cruz por nossos pecados, ele pagou o preço da salvação para qualquer um que acreditasse nele. Ele pode oferecer essa salvação a qualquer um que o procurar. Algumas crianças aceitam Jesus, e têm o prazer de trabalhar para Deus por muitos anos. Algumas pessoas ficam adiando e deixam para aceitar Jesus tarde na vida, até mesmo quando estão prestes a morrer. Eles podem servir a Deus durante pouco tempo da vida. Deus faz com que a salvação esteja ao alcance de todos nós. Aqueles que aceitam o Senhor cedo devem ser humildes e valorizar o fato de terem sido escolhidos para desenvolver um relacionamento maravilhoso com o nosso Senhor. Não devemos nos ressentir daqueles que genuinamente aceitam o Cristo como Salvador no fim de suas vidas. Agora vocês acham que entenderam o que Jesus estava dizendo? Vamos descobrir.
