Resumo: Um controle remoto é usado para demonstrar orações feitas através da fé.

Vejam o que eu trouxe hoje. Vocês sabem o que é isto? [um controle remoto] Eu sempre me perguntei como essas coisas funcionam. Você simplesmente aperta um botão e a TV liga, e apertando este botão pode mudar de canal. Ele faz muitas coisas mesmo sem gritar com a TV. Quando eu tinha a idade de vocês, se quisesse mudar de canal precisava levantar e girar um botão na TV. É claro que só tínhamos três canais, então não precisávamos mudar tanto de canal. Este controle remoto pode fazer coisas fantásticas, mas tem coisas que ele não pode fazer. Ele não funciona com pessoas. Se minha esposa estivesse cansada do que eu dissesse, ela poderia apontar o controle para mim de brincadeira e fingir que estava apertando o botão para me desligar. Mas isso não funciona de verdade, não é? Na verdade o controle funciona com a TV para que ela faça o que você quer.   Veem esta janelinha aqui na frente? É ela que vocês precisam apontar para a TV. A TV também tem uma janelinha parecida. Ao apertar o botão, o controle remoto envia para a TV uma luz, chamada luz infravermelha. Esse sinal diz para a TV o que você quer fazer. Agora vejam a parte de trás do controle. Veem esta tampa? Vamos olhar dentro. O que tem aqui? [pilhas] Sim, essas pilhas dão energia para o controle remoto. Sem elas o controle não funciona.

Quando rezamos para Deus também precisamos de uma energia especial. Essa energia se chama fé. Jesus sempre disse a seus seguidores que quando eles rezavam, precisavam ter fé, assim aquilo que eles pediam iria se realizar. Ele disse em Marcos 11:24: Portanto, eu lhes digo: Tudo o que vocês pedirem em oração, creiam que já o receberam, e assim lhes sucederá. Ele estava dizendo para agir como se já tivesse recebido o que você pediu. Isso é agir com fé.

Em outra parte da Bíblia, é dito que devemos acreditar fervorosamente que Deus honrará uma oração feita com fé. Em Tiago 1:5-6, lê-se:

Se algum de vocês tem falta de sabedoria, peça-a a Deus, que a todos dá livremente, de boa vontade; peça-a, porém, com fé, sem duvidar, pois aquele que duvida é semelhante à onda do mar, levada e agitada pelo vento.

Vocês gostariam que fossem pessoas mais sábias às vezes? A Bíblia diz que Deus está disposto a nos dar sabedoria se pedirmos por ela. Ele não ficará bravo se pedirmos. Mas temos que pedir acreditando realmente que ele atenderá nossa oração. Isso é rezar com fé. Assim como um controle remoto manda uma luz invisível como sinal para a TV, os outros não podem ver nossa oração. Mas quando enviada com a energia da nossa fé, ela é como uma luz invisível que só Deus pode ver e Ele responde às nossas preces com amor.
